Orphan Prevention Community (OPC) is a Christian ministry that supports nutrition and education programs in Guatemala. Our vision, “Planting Churches, Cultivating Families, and Harvesting Hope for the next generation of Guatemala” captures our focus, which is to reach communities with the Gospel of Jesus by working directly with local churches and Christian leaders. We assist local churches by extending their outreach efforts through nutrition and education programs. We also work with schools and other organizations in communities where no local church is established, offering assistance with nutrition and education programs and once established, introduce the Gospel of Jesus through locally trained pastors and Christian leaders. Our goal is to bring the Gospel of Jesus, build stronger families and a community of Christian believers to support a healthy environment for growth and development of the next generation of Guatemala and reduce the number of children orphaned by a cycle of poverty.
Orphan Prevention Community (OPC) and Redeemers House International, Inc is a U.S. based non-profit organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It’s senior leadership is volunteer and non-compensated, so that nearly all proceeds go directly to operations in Guatemala. In Guatemala, OPC works through its affiliate - Asociacion Casa Del Redentor, a Guatemala based non-profit organization that receives all its funding through OPC.
