Make a Difference

At Casa del Redentor, we are committed to answering the call of God by partnering with Him to restore families and strengthen communities in Guatemala. We provide an opportunity for people to experience the global Church and take part in the Great Commission in a meaningful and tangible way while supporting Casa del Redentor's ministries.

We have the great joy of hosting teams throughout the year in partnership with churches. If you are interested in serving with Casa del Redentor in Guatemala, find some of our Frequently Asked Questions below.

What to Expect

We recommend trips of 6-7 days with arrivals and departures in Guatemala City on a Saturday or Sunday to avoid traffic in the city.

Panajachel sits in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, on the north shore of Lake Atitlan, a beautiful mountain lake that is actually the filled-in crater of a massive ancient volcano. Because of the elevation, temperatures year-round are spring-like…cool in the evenings and very pleasant during the day.

Age Limits

We generally recommend participants be at least 10 years old and we’ve also had participants well into their 70s join us.

Trip costs are $95 per person per day.  This includes transportation, meals, and accommodations, as well as the group’s choice of activity (kayaking and dinner or boat trip and lunch).

Rates for partner churches are reduced.

A typical trip includes attending a local church service on Sunday and exploring the city of Panajachel. The Team Leader will have some flexibility in determining the activities of the team, but will usually include an outreach project for a local village and working in our nutritional, tutorial, and sports programs (2 days) in Panajachel or one of the villages in the surrounding area.  We also recommend the team schedule one day to enjoy the beautiful sites and activities around Panajachel, such as kayaking or a cruise on Lake Atitlan.

Teams stay at our base camp and local office, The Frutal House, which is located in the heart of Panajachel.  The compound dormitory has four bedrooms, each with 2 bunk beds (4 beds per room) for a maximum capacity of 16.
